PS4 servers DOWN: PlayStation Network maintenance error hits PSN users
PS4 SERVERS are down for many PlayStation Network users who are reporting issues accessing core PSN services tonight.
PS4 servers reportedly starting going down for many users tonight around 4am, affecting access to core PSN services.
A “Playstation Network is currently undergoing maintenance (NP-35000-8)” error message is currently popping up for many subscribers, it’s currently unclear what is causing the outage.
“Figures that PSN goes down right as For Honor is about to launch, then again PSN seems to have been under maintenance or some such almost everyday for the past month,” one user commented.
The probems looks to be affecting players in both North America and Europe at this time.
The official PSN status page currently shows that there are problems with account management, as well as gaming, PlayStation Vue services and social features.
Sony lists both the PS4 and PS3 servers as being affected, there is currently no ETA on when they may be back up.
“You may have some difficulty signing in or creating an account on PlayStation Network,” a message from Sony reads.
“You may also have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features.
“Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.”
There have been a spate of connection issues tied to the PlayStation Network in recent weeks, these have last for mere mintues, to hours for some users around the globe.
PlayStation services that are currently listed as unaffected include:
- PlayStation Now
- PlayStation Video
- PlayStation Store
- PlayStation Music
When functioning normally, PlayStation VUE offers a TV service that streams live TV, movies, and sports on a variety of devices without a cable or satellite subscription.
One affected fans commented: “I cannot sign in to activate Roku, and my PS Vue is not working at all. been having issues with buffering for weeks. may end up going back to Sling.”
