Fan Art Friday: The Delightful Geek Stylings Of Derek Laufman

Whether you’re a fan of DC icons like Batgirl and Harley Quinn, Marvel heroes like Captain America and Iron Man, or Star Wars legends like Boba Fett and Yoda, artist Derek Laufman has something in his portfolio you’ll love.

The talented artist has worked on projects for Marvel, Hasbro, and Mattel, and will also have 2 children’s books for Disney coming out sometime in the near future. While his plate seems to be constantly full, he’s always up for sketching more geek culture icons, and fans are the better for it. His art is full of color and expression, and his enjoyment of the characters he draws seems to come through in each and every piece.

Some of the highlights include Boba Fett’s escape from the Sarlacc Pit, Iron Giant striking a pose, and whatever poor person pissed off the Black Panther in his action-like pose. Good thing there’s no after photo of that encounter.

You can view several of ComicBook.com’s favorites in the following slides, but there’s plenty more to see in his full portfolio. Street Fighter, Masters of the Universe, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, and tons more Marvel, DC, and Star Wars await you. , and if you aren’t a big fan of the chibi style character’s he’s got plenty of other art styles that might strike your fancy.

Make sure to check out more of Derek Laufman’s art on his official website, Deviant Art, Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter pages. If you like what you see you can always purchase some of his art books and prints of your favorite sketches at his online store as well.
